Dr. Wendell Goins is one of only a few Carolina surgeons trained to perform Silhouette Lift for those patients who want to avoid an invasive facelift. He also has experience with fat transfer techniques which can restore volume to an aging face.
Silhouette Lift™ is a minimally invasive technique used to lift and tighten sagging tissue in the mid to lower face. Silhouette Lift can also be used to tighten sagging skin on the neck and jowls. This non surgical alternative to a facelift is growing in popularity, having been successfully performed over 20,000 times in 55 countries around the world.
Silhouette Lift™ uses a new type of suspension sutures developed specifically for the procedure. The Silhouette Sutures™ offer significantly greater lift thanks to their unique bio-resorbable cones.
The Silhouette Sutures are made of a non-absorbable polypropylene strand, which holds several flexible, absorbable hollow cones. These cones allow tissue growth inside and around the hollow cones, creating a much stronger anchoring mechanism compared to traditional sutures.
One of the most unique features of the Silhouette Sutures is their ability to be retightened after a few years to provide extended longevity to the face lift.
Silhouette Lift is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. You will remain awake and alert during the procedure, but will be unaware of any pain. The procedure takes about one hour. You will be able to leave immediately following the procedure.
For facial rejuvenation, the physician will make a small incision into the temporal region, just above the hair line. Depending on the desired lift, a number of Silhouette sutures will be inserted and pulled back to lift the lower face. In the case of a neck-lift, an incision will be made behind the ear.
Most patients experience some mild soreness and pain following the procedure. You can resume normal activities within two to four days. Expect ten days for the skin to fully recover its natural aspect.
Silhouette Lift is for men and women with mild to moderate facial sagging, primarily in the mid to lower face. While age alone is not an indication, most Silhouette Lift patients are age 35 to 60. Silhouette Lift does not replace a facelift. For patients with significant facial sagging, a surgical facelift may be the best option.
Silhouette Lift is especially well suited for men who have receding hairlines or baldness and are unable to hide scars from facelift surgery.
There are many alternatives to facelift, depending on your age, skin condition and goals. Alternatives include:
